Where Madmen Rule by Eugene Hayman

Excellent, good old-fashioned science fiction adventure: a roller-coaster plot, fun use of technology, heroism, romance, and humour, effectively delivered with great, no-nonsense writing.

The protagonist, Mike, is a construction worker skilled with mind-controlled robot tools. He meets the woman of his dreams but is drawn into trouble as extremists mount a coup. The bad guys have plans for him and the project he was working on. Naturally, he has his own ideas…

The sharply written first person narration and use of Esperanto reminded me of The Stainless Steel Rat. If you like that kind of fast-paced, witty adventure story, you’re going to like this.

Expect a high body count and a good deal of violence.
