Stones: Data (Stones #1) by Jacob Whaler

Matt, a 22-year old American, finds a magic rock which gives him mystic powers. Unfortunately, the bad guy wants to kill Matt and take his magic rock in order to further his evil plan for world domination.

The writing is well edited and reasonable, but clunky in places. I found the use of present tense annoying, but I also found the plot and characters annoying. When the villain is not just stupid, but hasn’t even read the Evil Overlord List, I feel a strong desire to slap someone.

No sex, no swearing that I recall.
