Schism by Brett Dent

Mentally disturbed psychics are exploited by evil scientists in this competently written thriller.

The protagonist, Adam, believes he is schizophrenic. When he murders his grandmother he is handed over to a mysterious research program who think his visions may not be hallucinations. Of course, the government/scientists/military are up to no good and things go horribly wrong.

The writing is very clean, well-edited and readable throughout. I was tempted to recommend this book just on that basis, but I didn’t really enjoy reading it. It just didn’t grab me, I’m not sure why not. But if this is the kind of story you like, then it’s well worth a try.

Includes swearing, violence.
