Jack keeps, breeds, and sells dragons. Small, vegetarian, fruit-obsessed dragons. Until one day an unusually valuable egg is left in his hands, and what comes out of it is rather bigger.
This is a fun story and an easy read, decently written and well-edited. The dialogue punctuations looks weird to me, but I have seen this style advocated and it is used consistently, so I assume it is deliberate.
Not much science fiction content apart from the dragons — which are fun, and not too cutesey. Overall, an enjoyable adventure which will appeal to dragon-lovers.
Though labelled as Book 1, this is a standalone story.
