Adam by A K Stone

Mystery telekinetic orphan teenagers help to defeat an alien invasion in this very readable science fiction novel.

As you might guess, the story centres on one teen, Adam. In future Britain, he was mysteriously abandoned at an orphanage as a baby. When he grows up he starts levitating in his sleep, causing explosions and suchlike, which naturally brings him to the attention of an organisation interested in mystery orphans with super-powers. It turns out he’s one of a hundred orphans with similar abilities.

Then Earth is contacted by aliens, some folks are trying to kill Adam for some reason, and inevitably the alien bad guys invade.

The writing is readable throughout, with few editing errors. My feeling was there was a bit too much going on in the plot, making it slightly confusing in parts and a tad too long. The plot is a little weak but generally enjoyable.
